CrossFit Teens/ Uncut After School
Building strong bodies and mindsets for life
CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. It is defined as constantly varied, functional movement performed at high intensity, with the goal of developing “real world” fitness through the 10 elements of fitness. These 10 elements are: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance; stamina; strength; flexibility; power; speed; coordination; agility; balance; and accuracy. Because these 10 elements of general fitness are directly applicable to a wide range of other sports, CrossFit is an excellent form of cross training for Kids and Teens.
Our CrossFit Teens and Uncut After School programs combine gymnastics, body weight calisthenics, and weightlifting elements to develop capacity across those 10 elements.
‘CrossFit Teens’ is aimed at children 14-18 years of age.
In each age category and experience level, appropriate/safe exercises are programmed for them. We make sure that our programming encourages bone density and vestibular development.Teens have the opportunity to maximise their physical skills when exposed to this stimulus during peak years of development. We keep our Teens engaged and entertained, while teaching them proper movement mechanics, thus creating a broad athletic foundation. Also, they develop a sense of community spirit, positive team work and a strong set of ground rules to follow which we call our ‘Club Rules’. We pride ourselves on developing confidence in our Teens through CrossFit that will flow into all aspects of life.
Physical exercise has proven results that improve cognitive function, aiding brain development. When we make fitness an everyday reality we can begin to see Teens developing their life skills of confidence, self belief and success across all aspects of their lives.
‘Uncut After School’ is aimed at children 5-8 (Group 1) and 9-13 (Group 2) years of age.
It is not simply a scaled down version of CrossFit, it is entirely and absolutely CrossFit geared toward kids and their specific developmental needs. This is the principal strength and conditioning program and is great for young aspiring athletes and parents that want their kids to grow up healthy, strong and have a life long love of working out and achieving goals, thus avoiding the common problems associated with childhood inactivity and obesity. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specialising. Healthy living requires that our kids push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift, jump, effectively and safely regardless of whether or not they are athletes.
The Uncut After School program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience.
Uncut After School is a fitness program designed for kids, combining movements from gymnastics and athletics into a fun, action packed activity that helps kids develop endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance & accuracy. As our children are becoming more and more sedentary and with childhood obesity rising at an alarming rate, there is a growing need to incorporate health and fitness into the lives of our kids. By laying a solid foundation of fitness ideals from an early age, we can reduce risk of disease, injury, and build a better future for our young ones. Since CrossFit is a generalist program, our kids program follows a similar philosophy. We cover the broad skills and movements essential for life and athletics. Improvements in the gym translate directly to better performance on the rugby field as well as the playground. Sessions are structured around a briefing, warm-up, technical focus and a workout of the day known as a ‘WOD’ and games. Emphasis is placed on kids having fun exercising, reaching goals and teamwork.
