What is Open Box?

Extra sessions for you to use as you need to

Sometimes life gets in the way of making our 3-6 CrossFit classes a week.

Sometimes we miss a particular workout, benchmark, or lift that we really want to make up.

Sometimes we want a little extra time outside of class to work on skills, drills, technique, or perform work that’s been assigned to you from your Coach.

Enter…Open Box

The goals of Open Box are as diverse as you all are, but here are some highlights of why you might choose to utilize it:

  • Do some extra work that your coaches have prescribed to you
  • Practice skills at your own pace, outside of the normal group
  • Make-up a missed workout of the day
  • Prepare for an upcoming competition or event
  • Try new things – PLAY with your fitness!

The gym is open and available to you.

We have made it so available that there is little to no excuse to not get in and train/move or do something.

Even during some group classes, however the class always have priority on equipment, space needed etc so we just ask that you respect that. As well as this, its not a time to catch up with friends, this can be done in the members area. Open box as a strict 5 person cap per time slot and reservations are as important as booking for classes.

And just as a quick reminder, here are a few housekeeping rules and the hours Open Gym is available for your use:

  1. If a class is going on, they have precedent on equipment/space needed for workout of the day.
  2. If a Coach is briefing at the whiteboard or teaching on the floor, you are not disruptive or noisy during these times.
  3. There will always be a Coach or Coaches available, but no structured coaching.
  4. If you’re seen doing something sketchy, you’ll be asked to stop.
  5. Open box is for unlimited members only, this included Teens Unlimited memberships.
  6. This is not the time to bring a friend along and have a good old catch up, it’s a time to work.

We have adjusted the Open box hours as of now to the following based on booking stats in the last 6months;

Monday:

Time slot 1: 1:15pm to 2:15pm

Time slot 2: 4:00pm to 6:15pm

Time slot 3: 6:15pm – 8:15pm

Tuesday:

Time slot 1: 6:15pm – 8:15pm

Wednesday:

Time slot 1: 1:15pm to 2:15pm

Time slot 2: 4:00pm to 6:15pm

Time slot 3: 6:15pm – 8:15pm

Thursday:

Time slot 1: 6:15pm – 8:15pm

Friday:

Time slot 1: 1:15pm to 2:15pm

Time slot 2: 4:00pm to 6:15pm

Saturday:

Time slot 1: 9:00am to 11:00am

Time slot 2: 11:00am to 1:00pm

Remember, what you are paying for is largely Small group coaching/programming in a 1st class CrossFit facility. Open box is a small extra to add value to this already awesome service we provide. CrossFit Uncut will always be focused on you guys being apart of classes 1st and foremost, otherwise we will fall into the commercial gym model I moved away from over 6years ago. In our opinion it does not work. Professional coaching and programming does.
